With the new KW V5 coilover kit, KW relies on its succesful motorsport suspension technology wiht displacement pistons (KW Solid Piston Technology) and modular and series-connected damper valves. The KW V5 impresses in sports cars wiht precise and fast damping without delay. Even with short suspension travel, steering movements and minimal uneven road surfaces, the dampers and valves react directly. Evert driving maneuver and every impulse, such as those caused by braking, accelerating, steering, load changes and bumps, are dampened much more
precisely. The displacement piston dampers support the vehicle structure more optimally than conventional dampers and so, depending on the vehicle structure, lower spring rates can also be used.

In contrast to vibration dampers with overflowing working pistons, with KW coilovers and KW dampers with displacement piston structure (KW Solid Piston Technology) we use a valve arrangement that is separate from the inner damper tube and piston rod.

As a result, the KW V5 with adjustable KW SPCLH-A (KW Solid Piston Compression Low- and Highspeed Adjustable) compression damping and the KW SPRLH-A (KW Solid Piston Rebound Low- and Highspeed Adjustable) rebound damping offers significant added value: more sensitive damping, cavitation-free function , high-frequency damping, low-pressure gas range from 6 to 10 bar and low hysteresis.
The low and high-speed valve units in the KW V5 coilover kit, which are built in series with different valve spring types and main valves, offer the freedom to individually adjust the compression and rebound damping with 13 exact clicks each (14 characteristic curves) in the low-speed and high-speed range. The KW displacement technology (KW Solid Piston Technology) can also cover a large force range in the design of the characteristic curve; in order to enable a completely new kind of harmonic damping.
Stepless lowering
The KW V5 enables a maximum or individual lowering in the tested setting range. Thanks to the dirt-resistant trapezoidal thread and the polyamide threaded ring, the stepless lowering can be varied quickly and easily, even after years.

As with all KW coilovers, the engineers at KW develop in extensive test cycles on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in our test center on the KW 7-post rig the vehicle-specific KW damper setup estimated by car enthusiasts worldwide.
