KW Clubsport Coilovers

The KW Clubsport coilovers utilize the uncompromising transfer of technology from the world of motorsports to track day/street driving.

KW V3 Clubsport Coilovers

Street-legal race track performance! KW Clubsport provides cutting-edge motorsports technology for the sportiest road vehicles with a sports-tire setup for use on the race track and road. KW Clubsport was developed specifically for customers who want to use their road vehicle on the race track, for example at tourist drives, sports driver courses, or other track sport events and need it to be street-legal so that they can drive their car on public roads. The setup was specially designed for the Nordschleife and the use of sports tires. The height-adjustment possibilities enable an adaptation of the wheel loads. The before mentioned adjustment possibilities combined with the separately adjustable damping technology for the compression and rebound stage (TVR-A and TVC-A technology) enable customized setups appropriate for the vehicle weight, the tire characteristics, various road conditions and driving conditions.

Setup – factory-set pre-configured damper setup with separately adjustable compression and rebound damping

The basic setup of the KW V3 Clubsport coilover kit, which is perfectly adapted to the Nordschleife, allows you to individually adjust your sports car to the desired street-tire setup due to the numerous setting options. The separately in rebound and compression stage adjustable dampers with their “TVR-A”- and “TVC-A”-technology allow an extensive damper setup. So it is easy to directly influence the steering behavior, the directional stability, the tire grip and handling characteristics for a safe controllability at the limit of driving dynamics. Depending on the vehicle type, the KW Clubsport 2-way coilovers are supplied with aluminum unibal top mounts.

Rebound damping on the rear axle

TVR-A rebound stage damping (Twin Valve Rebound – Adjustable):
The two-step, patented “TVR-A” technology enables the small volume to flow through an adjustable, conical low-speed bypass in the case of slow damper speeds, while in the case of higher piston speeds, the main rebound stage valve opens for the large volume flows. This provides a big improvement in terms of ride comfort without influencing the high-speed in the safety-relevant range. There are 16 precise clicks available for individual settings, so you can choose between more comfort or more body control.

TVC-A compression stage damping (Twin Valve Compression – Adjustable):
With 12 precise clicks the adjustable compression stage valve (“TVC-A”-technology) can increase or decrease the cross section in the low-speed valve to achieve either more or less compression stage damping. At the same time, in the case of sudden high piston speeds, the spring pre-tensioned needle valve and the spring pre-tensioned main valve open to their maximum valve cross section, to avoid with its blow-off characteristics undesired progressive force increase in the high-speed range. This allows a better bracing of the vehicle body and at the same time at high wheel acceleration offering more comfort than with conventional valve technology. The compression stage damper setting is always supplied in combination with a separate rebound stage setting, as only an independent 2-way damper setting allows a true performance optimization.

KW V4 Clubsport coilovers

Track performance with sports tire setup for street legal Clubsport vehicles.

The vehicle-specific basic setup of the KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension which was developed in numerous test drives and measurement runs on the Nordschleife and the KW 7-post drive dynamics test stand, can further be adapted via the click dial to the wheel loads, vehicle weight and altered body rigidity due to a bolted cage, welded safety cell or strut brace.

Setup – factory-set pre-configured damping setup with separate 3-way damper adjustment

Similar to the KW Competition racing suspension used in international motorsport, the KW V4 Clubsport coilover kit allows to fine-tune the compression damping separately in low-speed and high-speed ranges. The click adjustment of the “TVCLH-A”- technology is made directly on the expansion tank. You can manually vary the low-speed compression level with six precise clicks on the purple-colored adjustment dial. With the golden adjustment dial underneath, you can individually take influence on changing the high-speed compression setting for your trackday with 14 exact clicks from the recommended basic setup. Regardless of this, there are still 16 clicks available to noticeably adjust the rebound damping by the “TVR-A”-technology. If you would like to adjust the KW V4 Clubsport coilover kit that is available with a technical component report more comfortable for your trip on the highway to the Nordschleife or a different race track, simply reduce the rebound forces via the rebound stage damping. For the KW V4 Clubsport used racing technology of the multiple overall winner of the ADAC Zurich 24h Race Nürburgring is still supported by aluminum unibal top mounts.

TVCLH-A compression stage damping (Twin Valve Compression Low Highspeed – Adjustable):
With 6 precise clicks in low-speed and 14 precise clicks in high-speed range of the compression stage damping, the cross sections in the valves are decreased or increased, in order to achieve either more or less compression stage damping. The “TVCLH-A”-technology has a blow-off characteristics with large cross-sections which allows high low-speed forces for an optimum bracing of the vehicle body without raising the body in the case of wheel-induced high damper speeds (driving over curbs). The separate low and high-speed setting is always supplied with an additional rebound setting (“TVR-A”-technology) for an in dependent 3-way damper setting.

Continous Lowering

The KW V3 Clubsport and KW V4 Clubsport coilover kits allows a maximum or individual lowering within the tested adjustment range. Due to the dirt-resistant trapezoidal thread and the polyamide threaded ring, the continuously lowering can be varied quickly and easily, even after years.

The benchmark for coilovers

As with all KW Coilover kits, KW engineers develop the vehicle-specific KW damper tuning, through extensive test cycles on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and our test center on the KW 7-post vehicle dynamics test bench, which is appreciated by car enthusiasts worldwide. With a KW Coilover suspension, you will experience your car more directly and dynamically. This also applies to the new KW Leveling suspensions.
